What does AI do here?

It helps organize photos. When a professional adds a photo, AI suggests short labels describing the look, like “curtain bangs” or “rooted blonde,” so you can search by the look you want. Professionals can change or remove any label. It also screens out uploads that don't show hair.

If you ask for help finding a match, a weighted algorithm compares your answers (your hair, the look you want, your budget, where you are and the vibe you like) with what each professional specializes in, and shows you why each one fits. No one can pay to appear higher in your matches.

AI doesn't create or edit photos, and it never does anyone's hair.

Who decides?

You do. You choose who to look at, contact and book; hairpair never books for you. Professionals decide which requests they take, and they do all of the work themselves. A person on our team reviews every new professional before they're listed.

Can I browse on my own?

Yes, with no account needed. Browse real looks or the salon directory and decide for yourself. The 4-question match is optional, and you can see your matches without signing up.

Are these real results?

Yes. Every portfolio photo is uploaded by the professional who did the work, or brought in from their own Instagram, and is credited to them by name and salon. hairpair never generates or edits photos. A photo marked “✓ Verified” is linked to a completed booking with that professional on hairpair.

What happens to my information?

• Professionals' photos are public on their profile and photo pages, so clients, search engines and AI assistants (like Google or ChatGPT) can find them. A professional can delete any of their photos at any time.
• To suggest labels, a professional's photo and caption are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic. Under its business terms, they aren't used to train its AI.
• Your quiz answers and messages are never sent to an AI. Without an account, your quiz answers stay on your device; with one, they're saved with your account and used for your matches. If you leave “Help improve these questions” ticked, your answers are also counted anonymously to make the quiz better: never your location, your name or your account.
• We don't sell your personal information. If you allow it in the quiz, your answers can be counted in anonymous, combined statistics shared with haircare brands and beauty schools: never your name, contact details or photos.
• You can delete your account at any time, and we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days. The full details are in our privacy policy.
