Copyright & photo removal

Effective October 13, 2026

The short version

Every photo on hairpair is posted by the professional who did the work, and they promise they have the right to post it and permission from the people in it. If a photo shouldn't be here, report it. No account needed.

  • Intimate or sexual images shared without consent, and photos of children posted without a parent's permission are taken offline the moment they're reported, and a person decides within 48 hours. We also remove copies we know about.
  • A photo of you that you don't want online: we take it down, no questions asked, within 48 hours.
  • Your copyrighted photo posted by someone else: send a notice (below) and we act within 48 hours.

Copyright notices (DMCA)

hairpair respects copyright and responds to notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The fastest way is the report form. You can also send a written notice to our designated agent. Either way, it must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name counts).
  2. The work you own, and where the original can be seen.
  3. The link to the photo on hairpair.
  4. Your name, email and, if you have one, phone number or address.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you're the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Email: legal@hairpair.ai

We remove or disable the photo, tell the professional who posted it, and give them a copy of the notice. Sending a false notice on purpose can make you liable for damages.

Counter-notices

If your photo was removed and you believe it was a mistake or you have the right to post it, email legal@hairpair.ai with: your signature; the photo that was removed and where it was; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and phone number, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, outside the US, any district where hairpair may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the notice. We forward it to them and restore the photo in 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they've filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of professionals who repeatedly post photos they don't have the right to post, or photos of people without their permission. In general, three valid notices or removals lead to account closure, and we may act sooner for serious cases.

Intimate images shared without consent

hairpair is for hair work. An intimate or sexual image of a person shared without their consent is removed within 48 hours of a valid request, along with any copies we can find, as the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act requires. In practice we take it offline the moment it's reported. A request needs your signature (your typed name), the link, a short good-faith statement that the image was shared without consent, and a way to reach you. The report form asks for exactly that.

In the US you can also get help at takeitdown.ncmec.org. If a child is in danger, contact local police or the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.

Photos of people, and of children

Professionals must have permission from everyone shown in their photos, and from a parent or guardian for anyone under 18. If you're in a photo, or it's your child, and you want it gone, report it and we'll take it down.
